WAPO Duisburg | Verhängnisvolle Vergangenheit

On the riverbank, Katja Schwarz’s body is discovered. To the surprise of Arda and Chief Inspector Kruppka, Heinrich this time asks for the WaPo’s assistance. A message on the victim’s phone leads Arda and Heinrich to lifeguard Özgür Yilmaz, with whom the young woman had spent her last night. When they search his apartment, the investigators actually come across the crime scene and at first everything seems straightforward. Yet the lifeguard denies everything: he’d only known Katja since the day before, and what motive could he possibly have for killing her? A distinctive tattoo on Özgür’s arm sends Arda and Heinrich down a new trail that reaches back into the lifeguard’s past. Did someone want to harm Özgür—and was Katja perhaps just a random victim?
